Navigation menus

Menus let editors change a website's navigation without a developer.

Building a menu

  1. Go to Navigation and add a menu, e.g. Header. Its slug (header) is how the website asks for it, so agree it with your developer and don't change it later.
  2. Open the menu and add items. Each item links to one of:
    • A URL or path, such as /contact, https://…, mailto: or tel:;
    • A content item, such as a page or post;
    • A category or tag.
  3. Choose a Parent to make a drop-down. Menus go up to three levels deep.
  4. Use the ↑ ↓ buttons to change the order.

Good to know

  • Links to content follow it: if a page's slug changes, the menu updates by itself.
  • Links to unpublished content are hidden from the public website until it's published.
  • Deleting a page or category also removes its menu items.
